About me, Juan Cadavid

I am a PhD student at INRIA.

In 2009 I started working on my thesis entitled «Assisting Precise Metamodeling», advised by Benoit Baudry within the Triskell team at IRISA, a conjoint laboratory between Université de Rennes 1 and INRIA Rennes Bretagne Atlantique. We strive to understand the craft of metamodeling, and build mechanisms to enable the construction of more precise metamodels, since this is the core asset in MDE. We use empirical analysis and search-based techniques for this purpose.

Prior to that I worked as full-time engineer at Archetypus in the development of Quorra-MTE. I also worked at EurekaFacts, in Maryland, USA.

In 2008, I was selected in the Google Summer of Code program to work in Eclipse community, in the now called Mangrove – SOA Modeling Framework project with Adrian Mos. My project consisted of the refinement of model transformations between the different editors that Eclipse offer for SOA development, with the help of an intermediate model and a builder runtime in charge of launching the transformations automatically. This enabled me to become a committer for the Eclipse community.

From 2012, I will be looking for a position as teaching assistant, R&D Engineer or PostDoc. Please feel free to reach me at Juan dot Cadavid at inria dot fr.
