Subspace-based fault detection algorithms for vibration monitoring

We address the problem of detecting faults modeled as changes in the eigenstructure of a linear dynamical system. This problem is of primary interest for in-operation, output only, structural monitoring in vibration mechanics. We analyze new fault detection algorithms. They are obtained, from recent subspace identification methods, by applying our general statistical local approach to the design of detection algorithms.
