I am Thomas Maugey, senior researcher at Inria, in the team SIROCCO.
My research deals with visual data processing and coding, in the context of the urgent need for digital sobriety.
I have strong background in image/video compression, graph-signal processing, 3D data representation, image rendering.
My current research efforts focus on:
– extremely low-bitrate image coding
– data storage on DNA
– efficient video streaming
– limitation of the rebound effect in video compression
